    Job Description:

    The Insurance Compact Commission has an exciting opportunity for an Actuary Reviewer. We are looking for a team member who would enjoy working for an organization that supports insurance regulators, consumers, and insurers by improving efficiency in the ever-changing insurance marketplace. Are you driven to utilize your analysis skills while delivering excellent service to build long-lasting rapport? If so, this is a perfect opportunity for you! This is a full-time, remote position.

    Responsibilities include:

    + Applies sound actuarial principles, maintains actuarial qualifications, and adheres to Standards of Practice as promulgated by the Actuarial Standards Board.

    + Reviews product filings for life, annuities, long-term care insurance and disability income insurance, including long-term care and disability income rate filings, in a timely and thorough manner to determine compliance with the applicable Uniform Standards, Rules and Operating Procedures, and Filing Requirements.

    + Completes all necessary correspondence, responds to compliance issues and applicable actuarial checklists in filings. Follows through on responses to compliance issues and documents telephone and email communications in filings. Appropriately documents all regulatory decisions.

    + Advises state regulatory actuaries and others on regulatory matters related to development and application of IIPRC actuarial requirements and general concepts, as directed.

    + Responds to pre-filing inquiries from current and potential company filers.

    •Experience and Education:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar degree from an accredited college or university and more than ten years’ actuarial experience.

    + Experience reviewing or preparing life insurance, annuity, disability income insurance, and/or long-term care insurance product filings.

    + Solid working understanding of actuarial concepts for life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, and disability income insurance, including but not limited to pricing, valuation, and nonforfeiture concepts, requirements and actuarial standards.

    Preferred Experience and Certifications:

    + Familiarity with Insurance Compact Uniform Standards as they apply to life insurance, annuities, disability income insurance, and long-term care insurance, including rate filing standards.

    + Designation of Fellow from the Society of Actuaries and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries.

    Travel Requirements:

    + Available and willing to travel. Position may require overnight, out-of-town travel at least three times each year.

    Compensation:

    Starting at $142,382 up to $170,000, to be commensurate with experience and education.
