This position, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides coordination for all clerical activities related to patient care and department function. In addition, the ED Health Unit coordinator performs approved procedures including, but not limited to: order entry, retrieval of medical records, locating physicians, answering ambulance radio calls, answering phones and providing information and guidance to ancillary and other team members coming in and out of the department. Must be a High School graduate. 2 years experience in acute hospital setting, ambulance service or ambulatory care required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. EKG experience preferred. EMT Certification, CNA, HUC or Medical Assistant certification preferred. BCLS Certification (if not current, must obtain within the first six months of employment and maintain annually) required.
