Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with experience handling workers compensation to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical billing processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in medical billing systems and contribute to efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Audit medical bills to confirm adherence to State Fee Schedules, organizational discounts, and customer-specific guidelines.

• Utilize knowledge of Fee Schedules and operate computer systems effectively for auditing purposes.

• Reference relevant materials to support the accuracy of the auditing process.

• Maintain consistent attendance and reliability in daily work activities.

• Follow all safety protocols and organizational policies as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.

• Execute additional responsibilities and tasks as required by the team.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing or a related field.

• Proficiency in using systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).

• Familiarity with EHR systems and tools like Epaces.

• Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and appeals management.

• Expertise in billing functions, benefit administration, and claims handling.

• Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of accuracy in auditing tasks.
