Description

Our client, a well-established company local to the Tucson area, is in need for a Temp-to-Hire Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team as soon as possible! This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a dynamic accounting environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable processes and will be skilled at handling high-volume invoice processing while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage a high volume of invoices, about 500 invoices weekly, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

• Conduct bi-monthly check runs and ensure all payments align with company policies.

• Work with the Accounting Manager to review and approve general ledger batching and invoice coding for accuracy.

• Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or payment issues.

• Perform vendor research to address inquiries and maintain updated records.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage templates and navigate through data efficiently.

• Support reconciliation activities by collaborating with the Accounting Manager to ensure accounts payable aligns with the general ledger.

• Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards during all accounts payable activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.

• Strong understanding of cash basis accounting and general accounting functions.

• Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) processes and auditing procedures.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including working with templates and large datasets.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.

• Attention to detail and the ability to manage high-volume invoice processing with accuracy.
