Description We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in managing the procurement process, ensuring the organization acquires goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively. Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to secure the best quality, pricing, and reliability for organizational needs.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements and develop strategies aligned with business goals.

• Conduct market research to uncover cost-saving opportunities, monitor industry trends, and source new suppliers.

• Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to achieve favorable pricing and maintain high standards of quality.

• Regularly review supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts, quality expectations, and accurate billing.

• Monitor inventory levels and work with inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste or overstock.

• Maintain detailed records of procurement activities, including contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules.

• Partner with the finance team to ensure accurate budgeting, cost tracking, and invoice processing.

• Stay informed about market conditions and regulatory requirements, proposing improvements to procurement processes.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the organization’s goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.

• Proven experience in procurement or as a Purchasing Agent, preferably within a corporate environment.

• Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations.

• Analytical skills to assess supplier capabilities, pricing strategies, and market trends.

• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities to build lasting relationships with vendors and stakeholders.

• Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to purchasing and procurement.
