Description
Colleen McAuliffe is seeking a Financial Cost Analyst for an organization to join its finance and accounting team in the Silicon Valley area. . This role supports critical functions across financial planning, cost accounting, project analysis, and government contracting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to drive financial accuracy and compliance for federally funded initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Analyze monthly financial results and compare actual performance against forecasts and budgets.
+ Prepare, review, and submit monthly billing statements in accordance with internal standards and government requirements.
+ Perform detailed financial and cost accounting analyses, including funding profiles, cost variances, and rate assessments.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support successful government audit outcomes.
+ Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with financial plans and contract terms.
+ Manage and optimize the Unanet Accounting System, continuously improving financial tools, reporting, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
+ Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, and project financial management.
+ Knowledge of government contracting standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., FAR, DFARS).
+ Hands-on experience with enterprise accounting and project management systems; familiarity with platforms similar to Unanet is preferred.
+ Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
+ Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and with external partners.
+ Highly organized and detail-focused, able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
+ U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of government contract work.
