Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Greendale, Indiana. In this role, you will oversee financial controls, maintain manufacturing costing systems, and provide detailed financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will also lead efforts to optimize processes, ensuring operational efficiency and scalability.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee financial control systems to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a comprehensive manufacturing costing system that aligns with organizational standards.
• Provide insightful financial reporting and analysis to support informed decision-making across departments.
• Partner with the Finance Director and Senior Accountant on budgeting processes, financial statement reviews, and variance analyses.
• Act as a backup for the Senior Accountant by preparing financial statements, journal entries, and performing AR/AP tasks as needed.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance data integrity and operational efficiency.
• Review and upload payment files in coordination with key stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Work closely with the external accounting firm on matters related to accounting policies and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with inventory management by analyzing inventory levels, reserves, and discrepancies, and recommending adjustments.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to address costing-related issues and ensure system accuracy. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting, financial analysis, and cost management in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools, including ADP, Concur, and Crystal Reports.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general auditing practices.
• Familiarity with government contract compliance, such as DCAA regulations.
• Ability to lead budgeting processes and provide detailed financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify variances and provide actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
