    Duties Description Under the direct supervision of the Workers' Compensation Examiner within the Office of Operations and Programs/Quality Control/Case Assembly Upstate unit, the Assistant Workers' Compensation Examiner's duties will include but not be limited to:• Analyzing documents to determine if the information warrants the assembly or indexing of a new Board case.• Demonstrating a broad knowledge of Workers' Compensation Law, the Rules and Regulations, and Claims procedures utilizing the Claims Information System (CIS), IC2, and other applications• Processing work assigned in CIS work queues accurately and in a timely manner, including entering new case information into the Case Assembly tab• Ascertaining or verifying employer coverage• Responding to stakeholders' inquiries to provide and process information effectively addressing their issues or concerns

     

    Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.ORCandidates must have one year permanent or 55 b/c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.ORIndividuals certified eligible for the 55b/c program under the Governor’s Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must meet the minimum qualifications and provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.Candidates must have a High school diploma or GED AND one year of full-time general office experience*.*Qualifying experience: General office experience includes tasks such as preparing correspondence, reports, statements and other material; operating office equipment; answering telephones; verifying, recording and processing forms and documents such as contracts and requisitions; and performing general clerical duties according to established procedures.
