    A little about the position:

    Job Summary

    As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will Support new design efforts to improve the functionality, quality, and cost on the autocover product line at Latham Pool Products. Assess the materials of construction, ease of product assembly / interaction, current structural design properties and future properties required. Deploy design for manufacturing, system installation, ease of maintenance concepts and cost reduction ideas. Interface with internal manufacturing, product management, external suppliers, and appropriate agencies to ensure flawless execution of designs. Design and develop appropriate drawings and engineering standard work.

    Some of What You Will Do:

    + Design and execute developmental studies of new products focused on improving the quality, efficiency and usability of Lathan’s automatic pool cover product line.

    + Conduct performance testing on engineering prototypes, data analysis, and author technical reports, specifications, drawings, Engineering standards, SOPs, and BOMs as needed.

    + Assess and design product interfaces between autocover and fiberglass / vinyl liner pool lines.

    + Deploy design concepts that enable simple product installation and maintenance.

    + Assess materials/methods of construction, look for opportunities for material substitution, replacement to improve product performance and reduce cost.

    + Manage project execution including schedule, cost, and benefit delivery.

    + Seek out and evaluate new instruments, methods, techniques, and technology platforms to enhance product quality and manufacturing related testing.

    + Develop and communicate product bulletins as needed.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    + Travel as needed (less than 10%)

     

    What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ Years of mechanical design and testing experience in a manufacturing setting

    + Ability to lead and drive significant programs with large business impact.

    + Proven track records of successful new product designs

    + Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills

    + 2D / 3D CAD / strength of material assessment

    Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

     

    Employment Type: On-site

     

    Status: Full-time

     

    Salary Range: $85,000-$125,000/year.

     

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across US geographic markets. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

     

    Bonus: Year-End
