Job Title: Nutritional Service Worker/Cook Department: Food Services Location: Gouverneur Hospital Hours Per Week: As needed (Per Diem) Schedule: Variable day, weekends, and holidays; 8 hour shifts: 10 am to 6:30 pm
SUMMARY:
The Nutritional Service Worker/Cook prepares and delivers meals following approved recipes and safety protocols. They assist with catering, clerical tasks, and support facility safety and quality programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Prepare, serve, and deliver meals following approved recipes and safety standards.
+ Ensure food is visually appealing and meets scheduled meal times.
+ Assist with special catering events as needed.
+ Support clerical tasks such as data entry and patient tray preparation.
+ Follow facility policies, food safety procedures, and equipment safety practices.
+ Participate in quality improvement and environmental safety programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School Diploma (or equivalent)
+ 1 year of similar food service experience in institutional setting
+ Culinary education (either secondary education or BOCES training)
+ ServSafe Certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:
$18.27 - $27.67
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
