Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

As a General Production Worker, you will be responsible for palletizing and shrink-wrapping products, cleaning and sanitizing workstations, and moving products and materials using a manual pallet jack. You will weigh products before they are transferred to the warehouse and record digital weights on a small scale. The role involves moving filled bags, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, and handling bowls weighing up to 1,000 pounds on wheels. The position is physically demanding and requires adherence to company policies for handling heavier items.

Responsibilities

+ Palletize and shrink-wrap products.

+ Clean and sanitize workstations.

+ Move products/materials using a manual pallet jack.

+ Weigh products and record digital weights.

+ Handle and move bags weighing up to 50 pounds.

+ Push and pull bowls weighing up to 1,000 pounds on wheels.

+ Maintain safety and adhere to company policies.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in general labor, construction, manufacturing, or a related environment within the last 5 years.

+ One year of continuous employment with the same company in the last 5 years.

+ Ability to stand for 8-12 hours a day, verified through past experience and references.

+ Capability to drive a forklift.

+ Ability to lift 50 pounds, verified through past experience and references.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with using a tape measure, cleaning, loading, sweeping, machine operation, sorting, and packaging.

+ Experience in production, assembly, hand tools, general production, and/or construction.

+ Forklift and power tool operation skills.

+ High School Diploma or GED preferred, though not required.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a focus on safety and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The dress code requires steel-toed boots, hair nets, eye protection, jeans, shirts, bump caps, and lab coats. The facility prohibits smoking, tobacco products, perfumes, colognes, fingernail polish, jewelry, and piercings. Clothing must be intact without rips or embellishments. Expect a warm environment in summer, with temperatures reaching up to 90 degrees in some manufacturing rooms. The comfortable winter work environment is complemented by work hours from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm or 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Monday to Thursday, with the possibility of overtime on Fridays. Employees must arrive 15 minutes before their shift for temperature screening, which is compensated.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
