Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated production worker to assist with operations on the planer board machine. The contractor will be responsible for loading full-length boards onto the machine, stacking the cut pieces, and performing preventative maintenance tasks such as removing and replacing blades and oiling the equipment. Previous manufacturing experience and mechanical aptitude are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
+ Feed and relieve boards from the rip saw, industrial planer, and sander.
+ Sort, pile, and stack pieces of lumber.
+ Maintain cleanliness of work areas and adhere to all safety protocols.
+ Complete daily production records accurately and legibly.
+ Assist in packaging items for shipping and marking, tagging, and counting parts accurately.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to read a tape measure.
+ Ability to stand for 10 hours per day.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Mechanical aptitude and previous manufacturing experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prior woodworking experience.
+ Prior packaging experience.
+ Experience working in manufacturing companies.

Although we do not provide health insurance directly, we offer a bi-weekly stipend of $277 to help cover insurance costs, plus an additional $100 for dental and vision expenses. Work Environment
The work environment is a small woodworking facility with one saw operated and maintained by the contractor. The facility is well-lit, has sawdust, and is air-controlled. Employees can wear shorts and sleeveless shirts in hot weather and hoodies and winter hats when it's cold. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:15 AM to 2:45 PM, with a 10-minute paid break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Additional hours on Saturdays are available with extra pay.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
