    Job Title: Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical and electronic systems, conveyor systems, and injection molding machines. The role aims to keep equipment downtime to a minimum, ensuring efficient production processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, maintain, and repair all machinery related to manufacturing, including but not limited to: injection/compression molding machines, stamping presses, auxiliary equipment, robots, and fabrication and assembly machines.

    + Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate solutions, consulting blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.

    + Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.

    + Perform preventative maintenance tasks and safety inspections.

    + Repair electrical equipment and control systems.

    + Support all building and facility requirements as directed by the manager.

    + Adhere to safety standards and procedures according to OSHA and ANSI regulations.

    + Complete requisitions with proper approvals for maintenance items needed to repair equipment.

    + Provide own tools for the job.

    + Participate in 5S Kaizen events as directed.

    + Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on all auxiliary equipment and tag with completed tag.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience as a maintenance technician with preventive maintenance, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems.

    + Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, electrical systems (480 volt, 3 phase), and troubleshooting.

    + 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

    + High school diploma or GED preferred.

    + Working knowledge of plant machinery, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and modify programmable controls using appropriate tools.

    + Capability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    + Must provide own tools.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with Lean manufacturing practices.

    + Ability to work in a warm, unregulated facility with some cooled maintenance areas.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment includes a temperature-controlled facility with AC and heating, though some areas, particularly near press machines, can be warm. The facility is undergoing improvements in air flow. Maintenance technicians work in shifts, with the 3rd shift currently open (10pm-6am, Monday-Friday). Other shifts include 1st (6am-2pm) and 2nd (2pm-10pm), Monday-Friday. The dress code requires pants and steel-toed boots. Technicians may need to take on-call duties on weekends occasionally, but the team is cooperative in sharing this responsibility.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ANKENY, Iowa.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
