Job Title: Control Panel Technician/Fabricator
Job Description
Design and build control panels for the oil and gas industry, chemical plants, and perform custom work. This role involves the physical assembly, wiring, and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. The Technician will fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panel onto equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation.
Responsibilities
+ Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures.
+ Mount components to back panels and enclosures.
+ Route and bundle wires and cables neatly to meet wiring standards.
+ Perform point-to-point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, and Instrumentation.
+ Troubleshoot panels to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions.
+ Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication.
+ Communicate red line changes to Manufacturing Manager for revision prior to completion.
+ Meet deadlines under pressure.
+ Perform mechanical, electrical, and network installation of systems.
+ Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
Essential Skills

+ Ability to understand and work from schematics.
+ Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology required.
+ Panel building and assembly skills.
+ Mechanical assembly expertise.
+ Experience with point-to-point wiring.
+ PLC - Allen Bradley assembly knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience.
+ Ability to read wiring diagrams.
+ Knowledge of mechanical assembly and PLC systems.

Work Environment
Fabrication of PLC panels and cabinets in a climate-controlled setting. The company is small, with around 8 employees in the production area. Core shift hours are 7 AM to 4 PM, with potential overtime and occasional Saturday work. Lunch break is from 11 AM to 12 PM.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
