Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist/Operator
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist/Operator to join our team for the 1st shift from 6 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. In this role, you will set up and operate one or more CNC or NC lathes, performing various operations such as turning, facing, boring, threading, and drilling. You will work under the supervision of the Shop Supervisor or Department Lead Person.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate CNC or NC lathes.
+ Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, and drilling operations.
+ Select appropriate tools for various operations.
+ Read blueprints and understand machining specifications.
+ Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gages, and scales.
+ Adjust machines to maintain required sizes.
+ Understand and correct various machine alarms.
+ Perform daily machine maintenance.
+ Understand and follow basic machine tool safety procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with at least one of the following CNC machines: Fanuc, Siemens, Haas.
+ Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and sketches.
+ Proficiency in using measuring tools to the .001” graduation.
+ Knowledge of machine tool safety and procedures.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints.
+ Knowledge of DNC systems for uploading and downloading programs.
+ Understanding of cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cuts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Class C Machinist: Ability to make adjustments to the machine and produce parts to specified tolerances.
+ Class B Machinist: Perform basic set-up procedures, download and upload part programs, and make basic edits to part programs at the machine tool control.
+ Class A Machinist: Associate’s Degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent, 3 years of machine tool experience, proficiency in set-up and tool selection procedures, ability to write part programs at the machine, and capability to train other operators.

Work Environment
The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying noise levels. Employees are required to wear steel-toed shoes, hearing, and eye protection while in the shop. The shop setting may be dirty, and 90% of the business involves the cutting and machining of graphite. The company has excellent air filtration and dust collection systems, but it can still be a very dirty environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Denver, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
