Description

Gulf Stream is one of Charleston's largest civil site contractors. Their parent company is the Beach Co. (Largest Land Developer in Charleston). They only perform work in the Greater Charleston Area. This is a positive for candidates because they can expect to be able to be at home every night with very limited travel requirements.

Gulf Stream Construction is in need of Heavy Equipment Operators for a variety of different civil site work locations in the Charleston area.

Kevin Williamson (General Superintendent) needs Mid-Level Operators up to Finish Grade Operators. The candidates must be willing to get off the equipment when needed and help with manual labor tasks. Gulf Stream's expects everyone to be part of the team and do whatever is necessary to get the job done. For example: No operators will ever only be expected to operate equipment all day long. They must be willing to help out on other areas of the project. I.E. manual labor, shoveling, trench work, loading and unloading supplies and equipment.

Candidates must be reliable, on time, and have a great attitude around becoming part of the crew and eventually becoming part of Gulf Stream.

ALL candidates need to be willing to submit to a drug test.

Test the JD:

If a candidate does not qualify as a Fine Grade operator this is OK. We can submit them as a B Operator where they would be expected to do more manual labor than operating equipment.

Qualifications: -5+ years of experience with Heavy Equipment (Dozers, Excavators, Track Hoe, Back Hoe, Graders) -Fine grading experience is highly preferred -GPS experience preferred -Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
