Job Title: Service Writer
Job Description
As a Service Writer, you will serve as the first line in Customer Relations by scheduling services for our valued customers. You will deliver thorough attention to detail and customer satisfaction. The Service Writer will interact with customers to build loyalty and ensure confidence in machinery equipment safety and reliability. This role requires a passion for customer care and assisting customers in having a pleasant and positive experience.
Responsibilities
+ Promptly greet service customers in a friendly, welcoming, and courteous manner.
+ Take detailed notes regarding the customer’s equipment issues.
+ Verify customer account information or obtain credit and/or credit card information.
+ Schedule service work and verify warranty status on machine equipment.
+ Check for factory campaigns and explain repair options.
+ Explain terminology and the nature of work completed to customers.
+ Coordinate activities to ensure repair work is completed during the first visit and in a timely manner.
+ Provide accurate estimates for all services and repairs recommended.
+ Handle minor customer complaints with a courteous and tactful manner.
+ Set, confirm, and prepare for appointments with customers to expedite their service experience.
+ Determine machine equipment needs based on customer information and a machine walk-around.
+ Produce work orders for customers with full transparency, including cost and time estimates.
+ Communicate frequently with managers/foremen and parts associates to ensure timely completion of work.
+ Follow up with customers on the status of their equipment, based on how the customer prefers to be informed.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Customer service skills.
+ Proficient in service and data entry.
+ Strong administrative support and clerical skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Excellent writing and filing skills.
+ Technical support experience.
+ ERP system knowledge, with a preference for Oracle ERP experience.
+ Experience with heavy equipment administration.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be computer literate, preferably in a Windows-based environment (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
+ Ability to work flexible hours and days.
+ Dependability and ability to work independently.
+ Ability to maintain good client relations and a professional appearance.
+ Ability to supervise and motivate others.
+ Must conform to company policies and procedures.
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs. (if job requires).
+ Ability to bend and twist several times a day.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a front office setting with some time spent in the back shop. Office work is typical, with hours generally from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some occasional extended hours. The role may involve sitting, occasional bending or kneeling, and lifting and carrying a maximum of 15 lbs. The environment promotes a clean, neat, and safe workspace.

This is a Permanent position based out of Pflugerville, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $50000.00/yr.
