Work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm., during the fall and spring semesters. Work schedule during summer and winter breaks/session is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Position Summary Information

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Daytime Circulation Library Technician is the supervision of services at the circulation service point. This includes demonstrating a thorough knowledge of all circulation policies and procedures, and the ILS system, or other applications, used within the fulfillment processes. This position is also responsible for supervision of student employees within the unit and consults with the Manager of Library Operations, the Education Librarian, and collaborates with the library faculty to ensure full functionality of the unit.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior experience of expertise to support the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for successful work in this position. That educational expertise that could be satisfied in one or a combination of the following ways:

1. Four years of library-clerical work including two years of advanced library clerical work comparable to the Library Assistant 2, and graduation from high school;

2. two years of advanced library clerical work, and an associate degree or equivalent training with major course work in library science

3. a bachelor’s degree.

A successful campus interview and passing a criminal background check will also be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in library science or related field experience. Also to those with these job skills: Detailed skills and experience in academic circulation work; handling and processing library materials; assisting in the maintenance of library collections and its processes; overall library experience; experience and work in library systems/applications, especially ExLibris Alma and Primo; customer service and supervisory experience; experience with retrieving and compiling statistical data; and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
