We’re seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical CAD Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining high-fidelity 3D models and mechanical drawings of our wearable products. You’ll work closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure our designs are precise, manufacturable, and beautiful.
What You'll Do:
+ Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies in SolidWorks
+ Generate 2D drawings with appropriate GD&T, tolerances, and documentation for production
+ Collaborate closely with mechanical design engineers to translate design concepts into manufacturable components
+ Work closely with the PCB Layout Engineers using ECAD/MCAD exchanges
+ Manage and organize CAD libraries, part numbers, and configuration control
+ Participate in mechanical design reviews and contribute to overall product development strategy
This is a US onsite role, candidates must be based in the San Diego region for this opportunity.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
+ 5+ years of experience in mechanical CAD modeling for consumer electronics or similar fields
+ Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, assemblies, configurations, drawings, etc.)
+ Experience in Siemens NX (modeling, assemblies, configurations, drawings, etc.)
+ Expert proficiency in working with Class A ID Surface files
+ Basic understanding of DFM principles, particularly for injection molding, stamping, and machining
+ Experience working with small-scale, precision mechanical parts in compact form factors
Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
+ Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
Bonus Points:
+ Experience designing wearable, medical, or other highly miniaturized devices
+ Familiarity with PDM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Arena, etc.)
+ Basic understanding of material selection and reliability in consumer products
+ Hands-on prototyping and testing experience

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
+ San Diego Compensation Range: $130,000 - $187,000
