KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and schedule carriers to execute Conner shipments.

Salary $50,000-55,000 yearly plus variables

Requirements

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

+ Coordinate with regional plant locations to plan and schedule carrier transportation of lumber, pallets, crates, and other industrial packaging

+ Coordinate with mill and other suppliers to plan and schedule carrier transportation of lumber and other supplies to plant locations

+ Develop and nurture quality relationships with carriers and transportation brokers to ensure responsive, efficient, and cost-effective pickups and deliveries

+ Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external contacts

+ Follow up to ensure scheduled loads are picked up and delivered on time, and troubleshoot any delays to meet customer delivery expectations

+ Maintain open levels of communication between plant personnel, carriers/brokers, and company management

+ Identify and mitigate any transportation issues, communicating with and/or elevating to company management as necessary

+ Assist in establishing, managing and growing carrier/broker relationships

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor’s degree desired, or equivalent work experience

+ At least 5+ years transportation experience, brokerage experience a plus

+ Must be self-motivated and able to make limited and independent judgments based on given alternatives

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Must be a modern, forward thinker not afraid to try new things and adapt to change

+ Computer proficient, able to adapt to internal systems with strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills

+ Analytic skills to quickly and accurately assimilate information making sound business decisions

+ Understand importance of ‘do what you say’
