Our employees play a vital role in advancing sustainability, environmental justice, and clean energy solutions, ensuring a positive and lasting impact on Massachusetts and its residents. *Description:* *Bureau of Air and Waste Air Permitting Program* The Air Permitting Intern would be responsible for reviewing existing permits issued by the MassDEP Northeast Region (NERO) Air Permitting Group in order to create a modernized list of all active permits. The purpose of this list is twofold: to develop a database of permit template language, and to summarize all active reporting and testing requirements required by said permits. The intern may offer recommendations for updating facility classifications and reporting requirements for facilities that haven’t come in for permitting in recent years. Finally, the intern(s) will present their findings at the end of Spring, creating a flowchart demonstrating the steps an air permit application takes to become an active air permit. * * *Required – *Cover letter and updated Resume *First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.* *Preferred Qualifications* * A background in environmental science or environmental engineering * Solid reading and writing skills * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software * Ability to work independently, and in an organized manner with strong attention to detail * Ability to understand and apply the regulations, policies, and procedures governing assigned activities _**_ _*Comprehensive Benefits*_ When you embark on a career with the Commonwealth, you are offered an outstanding suite of employee benefits that add to the overall value of your compensation package.
