Position Overview

Kiewit Power Delivery Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Substation Estimator to join our team. This role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for substation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and construction, with a focus on high-voltage projects.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare detailed cost estimates for substation projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

+ Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive estimates.

+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

+ Review and validate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

+ Identify potential risks and opportunities in the estimating process.

+ Maintain and update historical cost data and estimating tools.

+ Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information for accurate estimates.

+ Provide technical support and guidance to junior estimators and other team members.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for substation projects.

+ Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and construction practices.

+ Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Primavera, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects is a plus.

Base Compensation: $142,000/yr - $149,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
