    RECEIVING SPECIALIST (STARSHIP) - TEMPORARY

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Coordinate with requestors to prioritize shipment of items and provide tracking as needed

    + Purchase items including: supplies, warranties, repairs, hardware, perishables, and services

    + Meet delivery dates on purchase orders to ensure the closure of open purchase orders upon receipt

    + Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork. Check for damage and confirm correct part numbers, quantities and revisions

    + Receive all materials/packages and transact receipt in the ERP/WARP receiving system

    + Coordinate non-flight inventory transfers between sites

    + Acknowledge and take receipt of all incoming materials and packages, identify receipt in ERP/Warp then transport to receiving inspection, stockroom or identified buyer/requestor

    + Count material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and post totals to non-flight inventory records

    + Affix verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing

    + Organize controlled-inventory storage systems and locations, and make improvements to material flow and footprint

    + Transport work-in-process material between work centers

    + Help other disciplines in the logistics department when needed

    POSITION DETAILS:

    This is atemporaryposition with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

     

    + LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months

    + LOCATION: Brownsville, TX

    + SHIFT: Monday to Friday (6 AM – 6 PM)

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High school diploma or equivalency certificate

    + 2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Associate degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field

    + Experience coordinating with multiple departments in support of purchase order placement

    + Experience working with suppliers and developing supplier relationships

    + Strong understanding of shelf-life storage and proper rotation of stock

    + Windows operating systems; intermediate level

    + Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), intermediate level

    + Familiar with use for variety of material handling and inventory control equipment, carts, palette jacks, scanners, printers, forklifts, etc.

    + Basic understanding of the safe use of hand tools

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    + Occasionally exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain

    + Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted

    + Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body

    + Ability to climb ladders/lifts at elevated heights

    + Ability to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
