    Job Summary

    The Data Science for Dynamic Intervention Decision-Making Center (d3center) is an interdisciplinary collective of data scientists revolutionizing the design and delivery of interventions in healthcare and education. d3c strives to cultivate a bottom-up, interactive, team-oriented workplace that values, above all else, how people work together in the service of developing and disseminating novel data science tools that matter. As we develop the methodological toolkit scientists need to address today's biggest public health challenges, we're building an open-source ecosystem for sharing our tools and collaborating with and training scientific partners to implement our methodology to solve real-world problems. Through partnerships with stakeholders around the world, we will catalyze a new generation of evidence-based, technology-powered treatments that improve health and education outcomes for everyone.

     

    The d3c Research Administrator will lead the submission, management, and reporting of a large portfolio of sponsored research projects including a P50 Center for Excellence award from NIH with three research projects and two cores- Administrative Core and Dissemination and Training Core.

     

    This position will report to the d3c Managing Director, and partner closely with experienced research administrators housed within the Survey Research Center (SRC)

    Responsibilities*

    Pre-Award Activities:

    + Prepare and communicate proposal timelines and documents required to project teams and coordinating overall organization of submissions

    + Meet with faculty and stakeholders to determine overall proposal needs

    + Interpret overall sponsor guidelines for varying sponsors and conveying necessary specifications to faculty

    + Prepare proposal budgets and first stage budget justifications

    + Prepare and finalize typically required proposals, documents and such as facilities, biosketches, subaward packages

    + Rout proposals through eResearch proposal management system at the University of Michigan ensuring timely submissions

    + Prepare Just in Time documentation and other sponsored requests

    Post-Award Project Administration and Financial Management:

    + Reconcile assigned account (internal, sponsored) on a monthly basis for accuracy and allowability and to ensure compliance with SRC, U-M, and sponsor guidelines; investigate and resolve issues

    + Budget development, forecasting, analyses, reporting, and conveyance of recommendations to PIs, research teams, and colleagues

    + Prepare and maintain monthly faculty effort spreadsheets to track effort commitments across time

    + Prepare materials for annual sponsor project reports such as Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPR) and other reporting requirements

    + Other post-award responsibilities including: set-up new sponsored projects, request sub-accounts, prepare and submit award change requests, complete uniform guidance annual reports, complete budget allocations, initiate and manage subcontracts, maintain other support and complete the closeout of sponsored projects

    Compliance:

    + Ensure compliance with sponsored, ISR, SRC and university guidelines

    + Help with the creation and management of Unfunded Agreements/Data Use Agreements (UFA/DUA) in eRPM

    + Help draft administrative pieces for Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications for human subject studies

    + Attend research administration meetings and training to remain current on changes in policies and procedures affecting proposal preparation, financial and administrative reporting; represent the program on committees and in meetings

    Required Qualifications*

    + Bachelor degree and 5-7 years of progressive grant and contract experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

    + Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Google suites and communication applications such as Zoom

    + Experience wit pre- and/or post-award federal awards with a focus on infrastructure or center grants

    + Experience with business tools such as, Travel and Expense reporting, and other administrative systems

     

    Work Locations

     

    Work location is expected to be onsite in Ann Arbor with flexibility for hybrid work within our overall Center policies.
