    Job Description Summary

    Shop floor engineer with responsibilities for solid state welding of rotating components. Focus on inertia welding and translational friction welding with growth potential for vacuum heat treat and ultrasonic inspection processes as they related to welded components. Execution or shop strategy including process improvement and troubleshooting.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    + Inertia weld engineer supporting production welding operations.

    + Translational friction weld engineer with a short path to be the process focal point and owner.

    + In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to execute shop strategy.

    + Growth opportunities to become a Certifying Agent for IW and TFW.

    + Growth opportunities within the vacuum heat treat and ultrasonic inspection processes.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing experience) + Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing experience

    Desired Characteristics

    + Welding Engineering Degree Preferred

    + Graduate of GE Leadership Program (EEDP, OMLP, MEDP)
