    As a **Senior Design Engineer** for the Small Track-Type Tractors (STTT) product team you will have the opportunity to contribute to the detailed design, development, and validation of the STTT’s designed in Clayton, NC and built in Athens, GA. This position will work New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects and play a key role in concept, design, development, and validation of the STTT.

    What You Will Do:

    + Senior contributor to the planning and delivery of STTT product validation

    + Concept, validate, and optimize STTT product design. Design responsibilities include welded fabrications and component design of final drives/brakes/hystat winch

    + Development and validation of Interim Corrective Action (ICA)/ Permanent Corrective Action (PCA) for CPI projects

    + Collaborative Product and Process Development (CPPD) with the Athens facility and supply base for current product and NPI

    + Support field follow of NPI pilot machines

    + Perform needs analysis and initiate ideas

    + Keep up to date on new technologies or develop new technologies

    + Communicate technical information to customers, team members, suppliers, and other units

    + Support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers, and suppliers

    What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

    + **Education/experience:** Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering

    + **Effective Communication** :

    + Proven ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to achieve project goals.

    + Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to customers, team members, suppliers, and other units.

    + **Technical Excellence** :

    + Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capability, enabling the identification and resolution of engineering challenges.

    + Ability to gain a mastery of complex engineering and manufacturability concepts, ensuring high-quality product development and optimization.

    + **Product Design and Development** :

    + Mechanical design experience of construction machines or subsystems

    + Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills, capable of driving the concept, validation, and optimization of product design and development projects.

    **Top Candidates Will Have** :

    + Experience in welded structures design, manufacturing, final drives, brakes, and hystat winch, analysis and/or validation experience

    + Finite element analysis (FEA) experience

    + Proficient in the following:

    + Mechanical design and detailing using Creo

    + Releasing drawing packages using Teamcenter and Engineering Data System (EDS)

    **Additional Info** :

    + **Office Model:** Caterpillar requires employees to work onsite in the office five days a week.

    + **Travel:** 5-10% domestic and international travel is expected.

    + **Relocation:** Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.

    + **ISE:** ISE assignments are **not** available.

    + **Visa Sponsorship:** Visa sponsorship is **not** available.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $110,520.00 - $165,840.00
