**Position Overview:** We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented R&D Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data related to our Research and Development (R&D) activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting various financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of financial processes.
The R&D organization is a global organization spreading across 3 continents with 20 locations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Monthly Reporting and Analysis:
+ Issue monthly R&D allocation reports and communicate to multiple stakeholders, including VPs, FDs, Controlling and FP&A teams.
+ Issue Opex monthly reports to VPs, including any necessary manual adjustments
+ Analyze monthly expenses and provide information for outside services monthly accrual, especially for contracts with universities.
+ Work with controlling teams globally to resolve open items identified during month-end variance analysis.
+ Reconciliation and Data Management:
+ Reconcile headcount, open positions, and terminations to ensure all HCs are in the correct cost centers and payroll is accurately booked.
+ Update SharePoint with employee information and reporting lines
+ Reconcile Travel & Entertainment (T&E) expenses and capex spendings, issuing detailed reports by team and VP.
+ Forecasting and Financial Planning:
+ Support the preparation of the Operating Plan, especially for salaries and benefits, and assist with Capex Planning.
+ Propose forecast adjustments and load forecast adjustments monthly into HFM.
+ Attend month-end and forecasting Corporate FP&A calls, and provide comments.
+ Prepare presentation slides for monthly R&D Finance reviews.
+ Project Support and Adhoc Analysis:
+ Prepare and submit the quarterly SF425 report and invoice for grants from the Department of Energy (DoE) or other US grant.
+ Support North America Research Tax Credit data gathering process.
+ Maintain a list of active contracts and support the gathering of relevant information.
+ Conduct adhoc expense analysis as needed to support the finance and R&D teams.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, preferably within an R&D environment, or technical environment.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel, HFM and Power BI. Ability to create Power BI reports is a plus.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Knowledge of US tax regulations and experience with DoE reporting is a plus.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$87,600.00 - $134,900.00
Salaried Incentive Plan:
The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
