Overview
The Computing and Information Technology Directorate works to re-imagine how digital technologies can simplify the research experience, enable data-driven insights for decision makers, and accelerate PNNL’s research missions. CIT helps connect staff to systems while enabling a broader research computing ecosystem to improve productivity and provide a sense of community.
PNNL is embarking on a multi-year initiative to replace its legacy ERP Human Capital Management and Financial systems. We are seeking an Oracle Cloud ERP Financials Platform Engineer who will play a key role in the technical implementation and sustainment of the new Oracle Cloud Financials ERP solution.
In this role, you will act as a technical subject matter expert in Oracle Cloud Financials, collaborating closely with business stakeholders, implementation partners, delivery teams, and cross-cutting ERP workstreams (e.g., Solutions Architecture, Technical Integration, Data Architecture). You will configure and enhance Oracle modules, support patch management, and drive technical solutioning aligned to enterprise goals and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
+ Configure Oracle Cloud ERP Financial modules to meet business needs, including General Ledger, Assets, Cash Management, Payables, Tax, Subledger Accounting, Receivables, Payments, Budgetary Controls & Encumbrance, Collections, Expense, Revenue Management, Project Financials, Project Cost Control, Project Billing & Contracts, Grants Management, Inventory Management, and Cost Management.
+ Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable Oracle ERP Cloud configurations.
+ Prepare functional and technical specifications for workflows, reports, integrations, conversions, extensions, and forms (WRICEF).
+ Collaborate with ERP Solutions Architecture and Technical Integration teams to ensure cohesive system design, data flows, and interface alignment.
+ Conduct and support System Integration Testing (SIT) to ensure solution integrity and data accuracy.
+ Monitor and support ERP environments, including issue resolution, performance optimization, and upgrade/patch activities.
+ Facilitate workshops and working sessions with business stakeholders to gather requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
+ Partner with business and IT stakeholders on product vision, roadmap alignment, and operational readiness.
+ Support change control and deployment processes within Configuration Management protocols.
+ Document processes and configurations and deliver user-facing materials, including training guides and reference documentation.
+ Provide end-user support and guidance, helping to troubleshoot issues and promote system adoption.
REQUIRED SKILLS
+ Proven expertise in Oracle Cloud ERP Financials modules (General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Tax, Cash Management, etc.).
+ Deep understanding of financial and accounting processes and their automation through ERP.
+ Experience configuring, testing, and supporting ERP financial solutions.
+ Knowledge of reporting tools such as OTBI, BI Publisher, and FRS.
+ Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
+ Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
+ BS/BA and 5 years of relevant experience -OR-
+ MS/MA or higher and 3 years of relevant experience -OR-
+ PhD and 1 year of relevant experience -OR-
+ AA and 14 years of relevant experience -OR-
+ HS/GED and 16 years of relevant experience
+ Demonstrated experience applying theoretical/fundamental computer science concepts through the design, development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of computer infrastructure and networks
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance/Accounting, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of ERP implementation and configuration management experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on Oracle Cloud ERP Financials experience.
+ Oracle Cloud ERP Certifications.
+ Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
+ Experience with integration platforms such as Boomi.
+ Proven track record of multiple successful Oracle ERP Financials implementations.
+ Experience working in public sector, government, or research institutions.
+ Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

In accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, new employees are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This investigation includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.
