About the Role
As a **Physician Substitute** , you will:
+ Perform donor medical evaluations and physical exams
+ Assess donor eligibility for plasma donation
+ Handle donor adverse reactions with professionalism and compassion
+ Educate and counsel donors about the plasma donation process
+ Administer immunizations and oversee donor safety throughout procedures
+ Work closely with medical and center leadership to maintain the highest safety standards

Core Responsibilities
+ Provide excellent donor satisfaction through responsive and respectful interactions.
+ Perform donor eligibility evaluations for plasmapheresis and immunizations per SOPs, FDA, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and company policies.
+ Conduct physical examinations and timely review of accumulated donor data to determine suitability.
+ Consult with the Center Medical Director (CMD) on non-routine medical cases.
+ Educate donors on the plasma donation process, potential risks, adverse reactions, and immunization programs.
+ Respond to donor adverse reactions; escalate to EMS if necessary, and notify CMD of serious incidents.
+ Perform plasmapheresis and whole blood procedures as needed, ensuring donor safety and monitoring for reactions.
+ Administer immunizations according to manufacturer’s guidelines and SOPs.
+ Maintain accurate donor chart documentation.
+ Review and post SPE and four-month lab test results and evaluate ongoing donor suitability.
+ Notify donors of positive viral marker results (e.g., Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, Syphilis).
+ Participate in center safety committee activities and staff education on donor medical suitability.
+ Manage employee immunization programs, including Hepatitis B vaccination tracking.
+ Maintain and inspect emergency medical kits and equipment per SOP requirements.
General Duties
+ Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain a dependable attendance record and professional personal presentation.
+ Attend and actively participate in required training sessions and staff meetings.
+ Foster teamwork and cooperation among staff to support center operations.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Graduate of a recognized healthcare program (Nursing, Physician Assistant, etc.).
+ Current healthcare license (LPN, LVN, RN, EMT-A, Paramedic) in good standing.
+ Current CPR certification required.
Preferred Experience
+ One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
+ Prior experience in plasma centers or blood banks a plus.
Physical and Working Conditions
+ Light physical demands (lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally).
+ Active work including walking, standing, typing, reaching, and handling objects.
+ Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens and low-temperature environments.
+ Indoor, climate-controlled work setting.
