This position will provide float coverage within the 12 Heart and Vascular Stepdown units.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols.

+ Implement and monitor patient care plans.

+ Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

+ Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

+ Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

+ Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.

+ Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).

+ Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).

+ One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings.

+ Will consider licensed military RN experience.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

+ Experience in the HVI Stepdown.

Physical Requirements:

+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

+ Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
