    **Reports to:** Sr Dir Procurement - Direct Materials

    **Number of Direct Reports:** 3 direct reports

    **Core Relationships:** **Internal** – Planning & Product Development **External** – Suppliers and vendors.

    **Geographic Scope:** Local

    **Travel Required:** 10 a 25%

     

    The Director of Direct Materials Procurement is a key strategic role responsible for managing and enhancing the entire procurement process for direct materials needed in the company's manufacturing operations. The role involves developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, ensuring supply chain efficiency, and supporting the company's financial and strategic goals.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

    + **Strategic Leadership** : Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for direct materials to be implemented in US aligned with the company's overall objectives and supply chain goals.

    + **Supplier Management:** Lead the team through Supplier Relationship Management journey defining key metrics to track performance and continuous improvements plans to implement.

    + **Risk Management** : Identify potential supply chain risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain continuity in the supply of critical materials, in a highly regulated environment.

    + **Cost Management:** Lead cost reduction initiatives, negotiation strategies, and value engineering efforts to optimize procurement costs on Reynolds direct Materials.

    + **Quality Assurance:** Collaborate closely with quality teams to establish and enforce strict quality standards for procured materials, ensuring they meet or exceed product specifications.

    + **Performance Metrics:** Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes, supplier performance, cost savings, and overall supply chain efficiency.

    + **Team Development:** Recruit, train, and mentor procurement team members to build a high-performing and motivated team capable of executing strategic initiatives.

    + **Communication:** Communicate procurement strategies, updates, and performance to executive leadership and other relevant stakeholders.

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    + Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field; master's degree preferred.

    + Extensive experience (7+ years) in procurement, with progressively increasing responsibilities and leadership roles.

    + Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, market trends, and supplier management.

    + Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

    + Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed decisions.

    + Proven track record of achieving cost savings and process improvements.

    + Experience in industries with complex direct materials supply chains (e.g., manufacturing, automotive, electronics) is a plus.

    + 401(k) plan that offers opportunity to save on pre- and post-tax basis up to 50 percent of eligible compensation.
