The Defense Analyst will provide subject matter expertise for Joint and Navy Requirements development in accordance with JCIDS and SOFCIDS. The Defense Analyst will have experience preparing Flag-level correspondence, executive briefing materials, and high-level reports and should be prepared to brief complex topics to headquarters leaders and higher echelon commanders. The successful candidate must be an energetic self-starter and must have experience leading operational planning teams or other diverse working groups in developing concept of operations, solving complex force generation, and other DoD related problem sets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Defense Analyst will be responsible for:
+ Working directly with the government lead to ensure all deliverables are identified, developed, and delivered on schedule.
+ Serving as a defense analyst for key defense programs, providing expert analysis and insight to support program success.
+ Collecting and analyzing requirements data to synthesize and recommend solutions. Authoring reports, recommendations, and delivering artifacts that support establishment and execution of formal programs of record subject to the DoD 5000 series acquisition policies.- Preparing Flag Level correspondence and executive briefing materials for senior military and government leaders.
+ Identification of operational deficiencies, identified from other echelons or independently, providing deep analytic rigor to identify root causes, and propose enterprise-wide solutions.
+ Participate in the development and delivery of presentations and reports to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
+ Leading the identification of staffing requirements and proposing staff actions to the government client.
+ Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Collaborating with the same to develop and refine products and solutions.
+ Representing the government client’s equities when specifically requested by the government at various industry events, conferences, and other forums.
+ Preparing periodic reports of activities and products delivered to the client.
+ Performing other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ At least 12 years of relevant defense experience. At least 2 years’ experience at DoD Echelon I, II, or III headquarters staff.
+ Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or a DoD-related field.
+ Completion of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I.
+ Strong technical knowledge of Maritime systems, solutions, and applications.
+ Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based collaborative resources such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ JPME II completion preferred.
+ J8/N8 experience preferred.
+ DAWIA certification (or equivalent) in Program Management, Engineering and Technical Management, Test and Evaluation or Lifecycle Logistics
