EJ has an immediate opening for a 3rd shift Pattern Set-Up Apprentice starting at $20.00 per hour with an additional $1.50 shift premium.

SUMMARY
The Pattern Set-Up Apprentice is a two (2) year program in which the person will learn how to safely set-up and/or repair patterns and core boxes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Required to complete and pass necessary aptitude testing.
+ Required to contribute a weekly payroll deduction towards the cost of the courses required in the apprentice program.
+ Learn how to set-up and/or repair patterns and core boxes.
+ Use power and/or hand tools per work instruction database and associated information systems.
+ Use computer to obtain and/or input information.
+ May drive industrial equipment to move materials if needed.
+ Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to drive a fork-lift as the job involves large amounts of forklift driving and using hoists to lift castings for a majority of the workday.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. A mathematical placement test will be required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
