Schedule: M-F 8:30 AM-5 PM

Role Purpose

To provide the scope of child life services to children and families who are receiving services from St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Responsibilities

+ Collaborates with health care professionals and hospital staff to provide optimal family centered care.

+ Provides child life services to patients and families as assessed and prioritized including psycho-social preparation for hospitalization, procedures, surgeries, and/or other potentially stressful events.

+ Actively contributes to the efficient operation of the Child Life Department, planning activities, special projects, meetings and outcome measures.

+ Increases awareness of child life services throughout the hospital by providing information about the services, role modeling, medical record documentation and in-service education.
