    Position Purpose:

    Supports purchasing department by retrieving freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. Handles related freight claims.

    Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

    + Coordinates back hauls and third-party carrier dispatches to get product to Core-Mark in a timely manner.

    + Handles SOD’s (shorts, longs, and damaged product) with vendors or carriers as needed.

    + Matches freight bills with transmittals to ensure proper billing from carriers.

    + Reconciles freight brought back by Core-Mark back hauls to ensure proper payment from carriers.

    + Contacts carriers to get best pricing for returns.

    + Tracks pallets and reconciles weekly pallet reports.

    + Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Purchasing Director.

    Skill in operating various office equipment such as computer, fax machine, telephone, copier, and adding machine.

     

    Ability to communicate with department managers, co-workers, business contacts (vendors and carriers) in a courteous and professional manner.

     

    Ability to be very organized
