The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital invites applications for faculty with established or early research programs. The position is open to individuals with M.D., D.O., Ph.D., or equivalent degrees eligible for appointment to the University of Virginia faculty. The position is for tenure or non-tenure tracks, and can be appointed at the professor, associate professor, or assistant professor level. Research must be applicable to pediatric diseases but may be basic, clinical or translational in nature. **_Investigators with Cancer Research Programs and Biotechnology Research Programs are encouraged to apply (examples include, but are not limited to: vaccine, drug, therapeutic, and device development, bioengineering, biomanufacturing)._** All research fields applicable to pediatric disease and/or health will be considered. Laboratory and non-laboratory research programs are eligible. Rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications.

C **linical Research:**
UVA SOM has an active and vibrant clinical research enterprise. The UVA human subjects institutional review board (IRB) is accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP) and as such can act as the IRB of record for multi-site investigator initiated trials; the UVA IRB also accepts National Cancer Institute (NCI) Central Institutional Review Board (CIRB) protocols. The SOM is served by two clinical research offices, the Office for Clinical Research (OCR) in the Cancer Center and the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) in the SOM, as well as a clinical trials management system (CTMS, OnCore) and a robust trial start up program (CR Connect). There are 2 investigational pharmacies.
