    Minimum Requirements:

    -New York State Certified certification in social worker, school counseling, mental health, psychologist, or a similar certification is encouraged preferred

     

    -Non-certified teachers accepted on an as needed basis

     

    -Must have completed 60 college credit hours

    Desired Qualifications:

    -Background in psychology or sociology preferred

     

    -Must possess the ability to interact effectively with staff, students and parents

     

    -Must demonstrate professional demeanor

     

    -Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills

     

    -Must be punctual and dependable.

    Position Summary/Responsibilities:

    -Provide substitute mental health services for various levels in areas of social worker, school counselors, and psychologists

     

    -Follow established plans and interventions outlined form the mental health professional, responsibilities could include delivering classroom lessons, small group counseling, or 1:1 counseling, academic planning, evaluation, delivering evidence based interventions

     

    -Manage student behavior as needed

     

    -Hours vary per building and assignment

     

    -Follow directions given by school administration and/or cooperating Mental Health staff
