Overview:

Responsible for the development and management of loan portfolio analytics, reporting and forecasting that support business performance. This role will interact with senior line of business leaders and represent the Commercial Bank to Finance and Treasury leadership for loan portfolio performance and expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Evaluate, inform and continually implement Commercial Bank Segment Support Strategy, aligning department roles and responsibilities and driving adoption across organization.

+ Work with CP&A Management and Commercial Bank partners, to understand and influence CP&A strategy and support needs based upon business objectives.

+ Develop, and maintain, a thorough and expert understanding of the Commercial Bank, including key initiatives, major projects, staffing, and compensation needs. Maintain an awareness of key priorities throughout the Bank and how they may impact the CP&A and Commercial Bank. Keep abreast of business and market trends that may affect the business/department.

+ Help CP&A to shape Commercial Bank strategic direction creating analysis to further Commercial Bank strategies.

+ Take an active role in defining, influencing, and overseeing Commercial Bank strategic priorities and projects via business efforts within CP&A

+ Set strategy for collaboration with internal partners on behalf of Commercial Segment Support team; includes development in support of CP&A and Commercial Bank strategy, projects and initiatives, develop partnership with other departments/divisions as needed to accomplish business goals.

+ Where appropriate, participate in setting policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of procedures or controls related to compliance requirements within the overall business processes. Know which partners to involve as necessary.

+ Utilize team to perform highly complex analysis and judgment-based review, research, and/or reconciliation.

+ Partner with team to interpret results and present findings to make or influence strategic decisions within the department or division.

+ Provide leadership to overall team; ensure that managers on the team are providing quality coaching and direction to their team members in order to achieve business results.

+ Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

+ Complete other related duties as assigned.

+ Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 9 years’ business line experience including 3 years’ leadership/supervisory experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 12 years’ higher education and/or work experience including 3 years’ leadership/supervisory experience

In-depth understanding of principles within discipline and knowledge of others

Education and Experience Preferred:

Master’s degree

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $118,945.80 - $198,243.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
