This soft-money funded position leads the implementation of First-Year Foundations for College Success, an ELH initiative under Gateways to Success. This pilot program enhances student support by embedding essential academic success strategies - such as time management, metacognition, and self-advocacy - into recitations for first-year success courses (ELH 117). The Student Success Coordinator will design and implement curriculum on success strategies, assist with classroom activities and provide additional guidance through ASC walk-in hours. This position also includes the creation and dissemination of resources for instructors and advisors on student success strategies. The initiative fosters a college-wide collaborative community focused on strategies to support student success. Typical hiring salary for this soft-money funded position is $45,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required:
+ Typically has the education associated with a bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
+ Experience working with undergraduate students.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
+ Working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Office programs.
+ Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and manage projects.
+ Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
+ Proven leadership experience.
Preferred:
+ Master's degree.
+ Knowledge of UMaine policies and academic programs; understanding of ELH programs is a plus.
+ Experience with MaineStreet and Navigate (or similar) platforms.
+ Experience teaching and/or facilitating groups.
+ Previous supervisory experience.
+ Previous post-secondary academic advising experience.
+ Working knowledge of FERPA and mandatory reporting requirements.
