Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a **Principal / Sr. Principal** **Software Engineer** to fill the role of a Software Configuration Manager in support of one of our programs under the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position can be filled out of our **Dulles, VA** office.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

+ Generating the Configuration Management Plan

+ Facilitating the Configuration Control Board

+ Managing patch and software releases

+ Software Version Control / Version history and documentation

+ Generating Software Version Description documents

This requisition can either be filled as a Principal or Sr. Principal Software Engineer.

Basic Qualifications:

+ **Principal Software Engineer** : 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD; or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree.

+ **Sr. Principal Software Engineer:** 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD; or 12 years of related experience in lieu of degree.

+ **Active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility, and willing to sit for a polygraph at the time of application.**

+ Experience with configuration management processes, source control, branching strategies and semantic versioning

+ Experience with Jira and Git/Version Control Software

Preferred Qualifications:

+ License Management

+ Experience working with external vendors

+ Experience with continuous improvement of processes

+ Ability to obtain SAP access

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
