Job Purpose
+ Learn from manufacturing engineers about how to provide operations and engineering support to position any company at the forefront of their industry.
+ Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with equipment vendors.
+ Develop strategic plans to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization.
+ Oversee company operations to insure technical competence, production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Learn sound manufacturing principles from experienced manufacturing engineers and manufacturing technicians.
+ Performing key data entry and engineering documentation tasks.
+ Cataloguing knowledge gained during internship and presenting to engineering manager at end of internship
+ Mechanical design of manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and jigs.
+ Participation in manufacturing efficiency projects.
+ Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ Active enrollment in ABET accredited undergraduate program in mechanical engineering or similar.
+ Preferred candidate will have completed prerequisite college courses and be actively enrolled in upper division courses.
+ Entry level knowledge and experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
+ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
+ Desire to learn as much as possible about manufacturing engineering.
+ Ability to use mechanical hand tools.
+ Ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion.
+ Ability to think outside the box and develop solutions to engineering challenges.
+ This is a safety sensitive position.

+ **The salary range for this position is $21-$26. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
