    *Up to $5,000 Sign-On Bonus*

     

    Shift Days: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5:00 PM

     

    The Clinical Dietitian 1 – Specialty (H) provides nutrition care with greater than 70% of time spent in specialty service as warranted by the facility.

    CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

    + Assesses the nutritional needs of patients and develops and implements nutritional care plans.

    + Documents the nutritional status and needs of hospitalized patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.

    + Communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients.

    + Initiates and follows patients for nutrient intake analysis and makes recommendations for continuance progression or initiation of alternate therapies.

    + Writes orders for diet, supplement, enteral/parenteral nutrition and laboratory data per hospital policy.

    + Provides counseling and education to patients and their families regarding various topics in medical nutrition therapy and drug nutrient interaction.

    + Ensures regulatory compliance including federal, state and accrediting agencies.

    + Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics

    + Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

    + State Licensure (LDN) by the State of Florida Department of Health

    + Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical nutrition experience, preferably including experience with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary, or gastrointestinal patient populations.

    Preferred Requirements – Eligible for Compensation Incentive:

    + Master’s degree in nutrition

    + Board Certification in Specialty Area

    Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

    + Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

    + Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.

    + Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

    + Ability to understand, apply, and follow instructions.
