Description
We are looking for a meticulous and motivated Accounting Clerk for our client in Covington, Louisiana. This short-term contract to full time position offers the opportunity to handle a blend of accounting tasks and administrative support for insurance claims. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Process invoices, payments, and other financial transactions with accuracy and in compliance with company policies.
• Maintain and update financial records to ensure data integrity and easy accessibility.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and perform account reconciliations as needed.
• Provide administrative support for insurance claim processing, including data entry and document organization.
• Collaborate with insurance adjusters and carriers to facilitate the resolution of claims in a timely manner.
• Review insurance claim submissions for accuracy, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients and vendors, addressing inquiries related to accounting or insurance claims with professionalism.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to create, manage, and analyze spreadsheets for financial and claims tracking purposes.
• Apply advanced Excel functions such as formulas and pivot tables to enhance reporting efficiency.
• Support the team in maintaining a collaborative and organized work environment.
Requirements
• At least 1–3 years of experience in an Accounting Clerk or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and formulas.
• Familiarity with accounting software and insurance claim processes is an advantage.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and invoice processing.
