Description We are looking for an experienced Paralegal - Manager to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to work on diverse intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and domain name applications. The ideal candidate will excel at managing deadlines, coordinating with attorneys and clients, and ensuring accuracy in filings and correspondence.

Responsibilities:

• Review daily docket reports to identify actions due, notify responsible attorneys with ample response time, and confirm completed actions while updating records.

• Send timely reminders to clients and foreign associates regarding upcoming actions and maintain clear lines of communication.

• Perform routine status inquiries, process updates, and ensure records are current.

• Handle incoming correspondence from organizations, foreign associates, and clients by docketing or preparing appropriate responses.

• Prepare and file U.S. trademark, copyright, and domain name applications, as well as manage maintenance and renewal documentation.

• Communicate with foreign associates regarding applications, maintenance, and renewal of trademarks.

• Conduct preliminary online searches for potential trademarks, summarize findings, and collaborate with attorneys to order comprehensive search reports.

• Generate cost estimates for filing foreign applications and provide detailed reports to attorneys.

• Prepare status reports and client activity summaries as requested by attorneys or clients. Requirements • Proven experience with USPTO filings and searches, including trademark applications.

• Strong knowledge of foreign trademark processes and intellectual property management.

• Exceptional organizational skills to manage deadlines and ensure timely communication.

• Ability to conduct detailed online searches and summarize findings effectively.

• Proficiency in preparing cost estimates and detailed reports.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with clients and foreign associates.

• Familiarity with trademark, copyright, and domain name application processes.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in managing records and correspondence.
