Description
Our client is looking for an analytical and detail-focused Payroll Analyst to join their team. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy of payroll operations while maintaining compliance with tax regulations and company policies. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in analyzing payroll data and streamlining processes.
Responsibilities:
+ Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
+ Process payroll transactions, including adjustments, withholding, and benefits deductions, while adhering to deadlines.
+ Develop and generate payroll reports, such as monthly reconciliations, tax filings, and workforce compensation summaries.
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax reporting and wage/hour laws.
+ Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related operational issues and inquiries.
+ Conduct audits of payroll systems and processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
+ Calculate and process garnishments, bonuses, retroactive pay, and other special payroll adjustments.
+ Assist with the analysis of payroll trends and metrics to optimize payroll operations.
+ Support end-of-year payroll activities, including reconciliation and distribution of W-2s and other tax forms.
+ Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll data and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of payroll-related experience, including analysis and reporting functions.
+ Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UltiPro, Paychex, or similar platforms).
+ Advanced Excel knowledge (e.g., creating macros, pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas).
+ Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, reporting requirements, and compliance standards.
+ Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to assess payroll data and trends.
+ Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing critical payroll deadlines.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with employees and external stakeholders regarding payroll inquiries.
+ Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is advantageous but not required.
