Description We are looking for a dedicated HR/Payroll Specialist to join our team in Olive Branch, Mississippi. In this role, you will play a key part in managing payroll processes, supporting HR functions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to both administrative and strategic HR initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees with accuracy and compliance, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
• Provide administrative support for HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining employee records.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and assist in implementing updated policies and procedures.
• Oversee the administration of 401(k) plans, coordinating with third-party providers to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Manage workers’ compensation claims, serving as a liaison between employees, insurance carriers, and medical providers.
• Utilize Acumatica or similar software for payroll processing, reporting, and employee data management.
• Collaborate with leadership to promote safety awareness, ensure training compliance, and maintain proper documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state labor laws applicable to the construction contracting industry.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and audits related to payroll and HR functions. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in Payroll or HR, preferably within the construction contracting industry.
• Proficiency in Acumatica or similar payroll/HR software, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of labor laws, safety regulations, and compliance standards relevant to the industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing workers’ compensation claims and collaborating with external providers.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with benefit administration processes, including 401(k) plans and employee onboarding.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
