Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Staff Accountant to join our team in Smithtown, New York. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in tax preparation and bookkeeping, who thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships, ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records for clients, including bookkeeping and reconciliations.

• Utilize accounting software such as Lacerte and QuickBooks to manage client accounts and streamline processes.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Conduct research on tax issues and provide recommendations to optimize client tax strategies.

• Collaborate with clients to address their tax-related inquiries and provide exceptional service.

• Support entity formation processes and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.

• Participate in audits and ensure financial statements adhere to industry standards.

• Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance and provide informed guidance.

• Assist in the implementation and utilization of tools like CaseWare and CCH ProSystem to enhance efficiency. Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and bookkeeping.

• Proficiency in accounting software, including Lacerte and QuickBooks.

• Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and tax compliance.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
