Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead and oversee accounting operations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role requires a strong leadership presence to supervise team members, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing accounts payable, general accounting functions, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and guide the activities of accounting services and accounts payable staff, ensuring a high-performing team.
• Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoicing, payment processing, procurement cards, and the annual 1099 reporting process.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate team members, fostering their development and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish and monitor departmental objectives, providing coaching and feedback to staff as needed.
• Manage general accounting tasks such as journal entries, expense-based billing, account reconciliations, and monthly closings.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting by maintaining a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure, including consolidation and intercompany eliminations.
• Lead and contribute to annual audits by preparing and reviewing schedules and reports.
• Accurately complete 990 tax forms and ensure timely submission.
• Support daily banking activities and assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain compliance with regulations. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting management, including accounts payable and general ledger oversight.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as BlackLine, Concur, and ERP platforms.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead audits and prepare accurate financial reports.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills to provide clear guidance to staff and collaborate with leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with tools like ADP and experience in accounts receivable and billing functions.
