    Robert Half is partnering with a dynamic agricultural operation in Salinas to find a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk. This fast-paced role offers the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s financial success by ensuring smooth accounts payable processes while working closely with vendors and internal teams.

    Job Summary

    As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for managing invoice processing, payments, and expense reimbursements in a highly collaborative environment. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, and strong communication as you interact with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for goods and services, ensuring compliance with company policies.

    + Payment Execution: Prepare and process payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers, adhering to established payment schedules.

    + Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve discrepancies, confirm invoice details, and maintain positive relationships.

    + Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into the accounting system while ensuring proper coding and documentation.

    + Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable ledgers, resolving outstanding balances in a timely manner.

    + Expense Reimbursements: Handle employee expense reports, aligning with corporate policies and procedures.

    + Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, tax documentation (e.g., 1099s), and other applicable regulations.

    + Reporting Support: Assist in generating reports and providing necessary documentation during audits.

    + Team Collaboration: Work closely with accounting, procurement, and farm operations teams to improve processes and support organizational goals.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    + Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

    + Experience: At least 6 months of experience in accounts payable or bookkeeping, ideally in agriculture, manufacturing, or a similar industry.

    + Skills and Software Proficiency:

    + Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms.

    + Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.

    + Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail to manage multiple priorities.

    + Effective communication skills for engaging with vendors and team members.

    + Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with agricultural operations, seasonal workflows, or supply chain processes is a plus.

    + Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable, given the diverse workforce and vendor base in Salinas.
