Responsibilities Serves as the Supervisor of the IT Branch, supervising a team of specialists performing Systems Administration and the delivery of Information Technology. Formulates and publishes technical guidance and standard operating procedures for IT specialists; and ensures that supplies, equipment and other materials are available. Provides advice and guidance to managers and customers on a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols and equipment used in providing information technology customer support services. Develops performance management place and performance measurement methods and tools. Develops goals to support the organization's IT Strategic Plan. Supervises assigned staff. Plans short--range and long-range work to be accomplished. Implements systems security plans, policies and preventive maintenance schedules. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualification Requirements: 1. Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. OR 2. One (1) year specialized system installation and programming experience sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in: IT theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods. IT policy and planning concepts and practices. Interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines. Methods, approaches, and practices for managing communities of interest involved in development and implementation of IT architectures, investment planning, e-government, and other IT related legislative and policy initiatives. The experience and education must be reflected on your resume and supporting documentation such as transcripts, degrees, diplomas, etc. must be uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position. HIGHLY PREFERRED are applicants who possess the minimum qualifications above AND all of the following: 1. Previous work experience administering DoD computer systems/networks 2. Possession of the following certifications: (a) the most applicable Computing Environment (CE) certificates of training AND (b) a minimum Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ equivalent (or higher certification) The experience/certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Incentives may be authorized if it is determined to be in the best interest of the government. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
